Privacy Policy for AppIQ Services
Effective Date: March 10, 2025
Last Updated: May 12, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the overarching AppIQ service, including the AppIQ Connect Shopify app, AppIQ Smart Funnel, and all related proprietary machine-learning optimization solutions (collectively referred to as “AppIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We provide comprehensive e-commerce funnel tracking and optimization solutions for merchants. This document outlines how we collect, use, and process information across our entire suite of services.
Our Privacy Commitment: AppIQ is built on the strict principle of “Privacy by Design.” We do NOT collect, process, or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as the names, email addresses, physical addresses, or phone numbers of end-users or customers.
- Compliance Framework
This policy is engineered to comply rigorously with major global privacy legislation, including:
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union;
- The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA);
- The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) of Canada.
- Data Collection Practices
2.1 Strictly No Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
Across the AppIQ service, AppIQ Connect, and AppIQ Smart Funnel, our infrastructure is configured at the core level to block and ignore any personal identifiers. We do not collect individual consumer data at any stage of the checkout or funnel process.
2.2 Technical, Usage, and Funnel Data
To power our machine-learning optimization, we collect anonymous, aggregate-level event data. This enables us to match funnel elements to optimal contexts without identifying the user.
Data Category | Examples of Events Tracked | Collection Status
|
Funnel Activity | Ad clicks, landing page visits, product views. | Aggregated Only |
Conversion Data | Initiated checkouts, purchases (value and counts only), upsell interactions. | Aggregated Only |
Personal Identifiers | Names, emails, phone numbers, physical addresses. | Never Collected |
2.3 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our services use cookies and similar tracking tags to count events and track performance at an aggregate level. These technologies do not contain PII and are used strictly to:
- Attribute funnel events to specific marketing contexts for the AppIQ Smart Funnel.
- Measure overall conversion rates and performance metrics across the AppIQ service.
- Feed anonymous behavioral data into our proprietary machine-learning optimization solution to improve e-commerce experiences.
- Purpose of Processing
We process the aggregated, anonymous data under “Legitimate Interests” (GDPR) and “Business Purposes” (CCPA) for the following reasons:
- Machine-Learning Optimization: To accurately match funnel elements to the right contexts and target audiences based on statistical trends.
- Merchant Analytics: To provide aggregate reports on funnel activity via the AppIQ Connect and Smart Funnel dashboards.
- Service Reliability: To monitor the technical performance and stability of our tracking integrations.
- Data Sharing and Disclosure
AppIQ does not sell user data. Because we do not collect PII, we do not engage in the sale of “Personal Information” as defined by the CCPA. Data sharing is strictly limited to:
- Infrastructure Providers: Secure cloud service providers (bound by strict data processing agreements) hosting our machine-learning models and databases.
- Legal Requirements: Disclosures mandated by lawful subpoenas or legal processes to comply with applicable laws.
- Data Retention
We store aggregate and statistical data for as long as necessary to maintain our optimization services. If a merchant terminates their relationship with AppIQ or uninstalls AppIQ Connect, we immediately cease tracking new data for their properties. Historical aggregate data is retained purely to train our optimization models without linking back to any specific merchant or individual consumer.
- User and Merchant Rights
Since we do not collect or store identifiers, we cannot isolate or identify a specific consumer’s data to facilitate an individual access or deletion request. However, merchants utilizing AppIQ may exercise the following rights:
- Right to Know: Understanding the exact nature of the aggregate data processed by AppIQ Connect and AppIQ Smart Funnel.
- Right to Deletion: Merchants can request the removal of their account configurations and associated statistical performance data.
- International Data Transfers
Data processed by AppIQ may be transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK. We guarantee that any such transfers comply with the GDPR via appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), ensuring robust protection of the aggregate datasets.
